Although the department does not offer a graduate degree in Religious
Studies, some REL courses can be taken for graduate credit by students
in other departments. Many students in the Master of Arts in
Liberal Arts (MALA) program have chosen Religious Studies as one of
their areas of concentration. Generally, 4000-level
courses may be taken for undergraduate or graduate credit, though
requirements and/or grading emphasis may differ for undergraduates and graduates in the same
course. Courses at the 7000-level are for graduate credit, except in restricted
instances. Consult the LSU Graduate Bulletin for more information.
The information provided here has been supplied by the teaching faculty
who offer these courses, and is intended to supplement, but not replace,
the official course descriptions that are contained in the LSU catalog.
