Delbert Burkett teaches courses in the history, religion, and literature of early Christianity.
He has also developed several courses on the history
of particular religious ideas. His series of books Rethinking the
Gospel Sources provides new perspectives on the sources of the New
Testament gospels. He has also published two books on the New Testament
title "Son of Man" and an introduction to the New Testament and the origins
of Christianity. Most recently, he has edited The Blackwell Companion to
