Research Leave for Non-Tenured Faculty

College of Arts & Sciences

 

Each year, pending the availability of funds and a merit review of the proposals, the College will award teaching releases to faculty members meeting the following criteria:

• Faculty must be in third year of appointment
• Faculty must be reappointed (pass third-year review)
• Faculty must be full-time

 

The application should be one original and two copies of:

• Proposal narrative not to exceed 3 pages
• A current curriculum vitae.

 Successful applicants will receive teaching releases for one semester, and their departments will provided with support for replacement teaching. Unless otherwise exempted, the recipients will be expected to remain available for other duties e.g. participation on thesis and dissertation committees, faculty meetings, etc. Faculty must remain at LSU for one year following the leave, or be responsible for reimbursing LSU for expenses incurred during the funding period.
